Hung out with a few at Sophie’s place on Friday where we discussed technology and animal stories. I am jealous of all of you kids that are now on spring break.

I finally bought a scanner, Epson V500, and I’ve been scanning mad since Tuesday. This means that my stack of negatives are finally scanned… and I have 11 more rolls of B/W to get developed. It’s a beautiful feeling.

A weekend is a success if you are able to look back at it and smile. It is also the start of my spring break (which is more of a work week if anything) and it started with a bang. Spent Saturday night with a group of the kids at Bentley and we just had a good time… and filet-o-fish(s). And sunday was spent with Linh, where we ate spicy food, roamed Boston, and Watchmen.

Great weather, great people, great food, and I had myself a great weekend.

I was at the Pucker’s Gallery with my class today and I laid witness to some of the most beautiful art that I have ever seen.. The one that struck me as simply amazing was Brother Thomas’ work. It wasn’t only because of how perfect the pots were, but its how it got to that point. To hear how he destroyed hundreds of his pieces because he simply wasn’t satisfied with it is amazing. Mind you, his “faulty” pots would be some people’s best work.

After seeing this on Jake Davis‘ blog the other day, I searched about it online and read some more about it. I went to Borders to buy it and I haven’t regret it since. It’s amazing how you can use almost all of these ideas to push you in everyday life. The first chapter reads, “Why do we strive for excellence when mediocrity is required?”

While I browse and read Supertalk daily, I never really post because I often feel like what I want to be said has already been said. But I am a huge fan of the forum because of the amount of knowledge and inspiration that I can draw from the wide variety of subjects: denim, fashion, music, photos, etc. So when I found out that Dry Bones/Self Edge/Superfuture would all work together to create a contest pair of denim, I was pretty ecstatic to see the final product. It’s safe to say that they did a damn fine job with all of the little details. From the brand new denim fabric, to the military grade canvas pocket lining, and then to the rep bar itself, the attention to details is all there. I would jump on this instantaneously, but due to my commitment to my sugarcanes (another collaboration with self edge, see a trend there?) and the lack of financial funds, I will have to pass.

I will regret this later on but…. Yeah, I’ll regret this later on. 

Self Edge x Dry Bones x Superfuture: SEXDBXS09

Last night from NJ’s (Nick Jackson, hahaha) birthday party. I would love to include a picture of him but it would scare anyone who actually reads this. So just imagine a bear, mmmkay? Good times, good people, good talks, good company? yes.

While at work, knowing that I’m a fan of Red Wings, Erica told me that a 2nd hand store down the streets had a pair in fairly good condition. I went and saw and instantly fell in love… I ended up paying $88, which some may think is too much, but it’s probably one of the best purchases that I’ve made recently. I would love to find a brand new pair to stock up but I can only find info regarding it on Japanese websites (they always get the cool shit.) So any info from anyone who comes across this would be awesome.

Went to eat with Lena yesterday (who I ruvvv) then we went to see Brittany perform in her last musical play ever in her college career. It’s safe to say that she did an amazing job as the lecturer and simply did it with ease. The entire cast also did an amazing job and created a fun and enjoyable night.
